A medical device team wanted demonstration models to augment their animal labs and give them the ability to provide more surgeons hands-on practice with their device and procedure. Once models were created they found that they were able to deliver so many more training demos that they could actually reduce the number of labs and believe that they are on their way to eliminating labs altogether. An unpredicted benefit of the new demonstration models is that in addition to the surgeon getting the training, the surgeon’s staff members can now participate in the training at the same time, preparing them all before they are in a surgical setting.
