Solidify Surgeon Skills

“After the swine session the physicians went back to the room with the model to use it again solidifying their experience from the animal session.”

Medical Device teams can help surgeons advance skills and increase their confidence with a medical device and procedure through repeated hands-on practice. A model can provide a perfect vehicle to give more surgeons more opportunities to get experience with a device. Models can be used in any setting, in any location, and are designed to be portable, eye-catching, and totally congruent with an organizations marketing and training.

Create an Environment Where Real-Life Conversations Can Happen

When you can marry the physician’s presentation with hands-on practice using your medical device, you create an environment where surgeons get experience, gain techniques, and build confidence before they are in a surgical setting. Pulse MDM clients have found that the custom choreographed training sets the stage for deeper clinical conversations where surgeons apply what they learned in the didactic portion of the program, taking what is conceptual, to realization.

Some clinical training sessions include a clinical coach, a physician speaker/presenter, and a group of physician participants. The model serves as a vehicle that ignites conversations with the entire group.

Sway The Value Analysis Committee

Can You Sway the Value Analysis Committee?

Donna, I wanted to give you this success story: one of our sales reps was using the new demo model to demonstrate our device to a prospective client. The physician liked how the model communicated the device’s value & unique capabilities so much that he actually took our device with the model to the hospital’s value analysis committee and demonstrated it for them. The committee approved our device and is working on replacing two devices that are currently in use at that facility with our product.           …R.L. Product Manager Endosurgery

If you are still mulling the idea of a custom demonstration model, here are five reasons to take the leap:

  1. Surgeons; by their very nature, are hands on people.
  2. Whenever you add ‘touch’ you boost comprehension & recall.
  3. Communication is 55%Visual, 38%Vocal, & 7% Verbal.
  4. Cadavers don’t (usually) come with replaceable parts.
  5. Tangible & portable proof of your product superiority is hot!

We work with Medical Device groups every day, crafting vehicles that show how, where, and when a device is better than the competitor’s. We listen to you tell your story then design the surgical experience around that – how you distinguish your device, your approach to patient care, the way you influence trial & adoption and how you want to impact sales.

The Pulse MDM team gets ridiculously excited learning about a device and procedure and dreaming up ways to craft a visually striking, tactilely tempting, utterly unforgettable experience for surgeons. Let’s talk soon!

Reduce Animal Labs in Medical Device Training

A medical device team wanted demonstration models to augment their animal labs and give them the ability to provide more surgeons hands-on practice with their device and procedure. Once models were created they found that they were able to deliver so many more training demos that they could actually reduce the number of labs and believe that they are on their way to eliminating labs altogether. An unpredicted benefit of the new demonstration models is that in addition to the surgeon getting the training, the surgeon’s staff members can now participate in the training at the same time, preparing them all before they are in a surgical setting.

Medical Device Mojo

You can give surgeons a totally choreographed experience with your medical device, on your anatomy target, with a predictable and repeatable outcome every time. Each interaction can offer hands-on practice with your device performing the critical part of your procedure so that physicians gain familiarity and increase confidence before they go into surgery. Custom medical device demonstration models are created specifically for your company and your device so that salespeople will be eager to use them and physicians will be excited to try them. Experts at all things squishy, we have conventions on how to make our materials respond to your devices in a clinically authentic and convincing way. And with you, we will pare down the model to the very essence of what is required to tell your story, achieving more trial & adoption and ultimately increasing sales & revenues. Tell us the challenges you face in giving surgeons practice with your device. We will show you a better way to engage surgeons.

New or low volume procedures with your medical device.

How can you get surgeons comfortable with your medical device & your approach when it is used for a new or low volume procedure? Let’s talk about creating a vehicle made of materials that will respond to your devices in a clinically authentic and convincing way, giving physicians repeatable & relevant practice with your medical device, in any venue, anywhere in the world. We are experts at paring down to the very essence of what is required to tell your story, to increase trial & adoption, and ultimately impact sales. It all starts with your device, the procedure, how you differentiate your brand, and what surgeons need to experience. More meaningful than a lecture, video, or animation and more convenient than an animal or cadaver lab, your model will give your potential customers hands-on practice with your device before they try it on a patient.

Our Clients Like it Squishy

We are regularly asked if we make medical demonstration models with 3D Printers.

While rapid prototypes are often used as a step in creating a custom anatomical target, most SLA & SLS materials are rigid, not smooth, not very pretty and can be fragile, which makes them not such a great match for organs, vessels, tracts, sphincters, valves, muscles, or tissues.

We want, and you want, your anatomical target to be durable, beautiful, smooth, with just the right amount of squish and we are positively experts at all things squishy.

If you would like to have a choreographed hands-on interaction for surgeons with your medical device on your anatomical target with a predictable & repeatable outcome, every time, we have a knack for paring down a medical demonstration to the very essence of what is required to tell a story.

Please challenge us with the experience you would like to give surgeons. The part of the procedure where you really differentiate your medical device. The really squishy practice that will build their skills, giving them confidence in your approach.

And invite us to come meet with your team. It is a blast!
